Sometimes you have to see the morning to understand the night. Sometimes you have to see the frost clinging to the grasses and the leaves and the stones. Sometimes you have to see the sun crest over a wooded hill to illuminate a pale blue sky. Sometimes you have to see steam whirling in the air above the sleepy houses and watch the sparrows swoop from perch to perch. Sometimes you have to see the soft clouds spread delicately between gentle gradients of colour.
Sometimes you have to hear the bright chatter of the dawn chorus. Sometimes you have to smell the cold in the air. Sometimes you have to watch the condensation crystalize on glass.
Sometimes you have to recall that there is sensitivity in the world. There is gentleness and vulnerability. There is compassion and firmness. Sometimes you have to remember there is goodness in the world. Sometimes it is better to see it. Always, it is best to be it.
Sometimes you have to see the morning to remind yourself why you should see the next.
