The ground shakes and the glass rattles in the frames of the cars. The monstrous head of the creature peeks around the buildings and everyone at the petrol station either freezes in place or flinches back. Not what you expect to see first thing on a Sunday morning.
Unfortunately one of the flinchers was holding one of the pumps and now it clatters to the ground, spraying petrol everywhere. Something, perhaps a running engine, is there to immediately set a flame to the leaking fuel. In an instant, the woman, her car, and the pumphead is engulfed in a fat ball of flame and gouts of black smoke.
In a heartbeat, the eight-story reptile became the secondary concern.
