Unreal.
He's making connections no one else will ever make. They can't. His reality is his own. He sees the world through a lens that doesn't exist for anyone else.
The things he says unnerve people. They don't like the way he looks at them. At other things. He can hardly follow a conversation. People are never sure when he might snap.
So no one ever paid him much heed. The way he projects his present into our future seems laughable. Fabrications of an alien mind.
When those things started happening, no one had any kind of revelation about him. No one saw him as a prophet. More of a chimpanzee on a typewriter, making so many predictions that at least one of them had to come true.
But then they kept happening. The order was particular. The details, just as he'd described.
And all of a sudden, the ravings in the night had a million listeners.
