Alone, my friends retreating into the distance, onto another adventure, I look up at the sky at the immense clouds that etch out an empire up there.
I do not think on the things that are hard in my life, or the things that scare or anger me. I do not think of all the possible futures and the grim portents or sickening dread. I do not think on the false glimmer of hope or the tangible joy of relief.
I do not think on anything. I just consider the sky and her majesty. And I walk home, humbled that I am able to walk under such beauty.
