The Broker grins. ‘Well done. A little more of this and you’ll be out. Just one more job.’
‘Yeah?’ says Chesko, seating himself opposite the Broker. ‘I thought we were all done.’
‘Oh, well, I thought the money from the last job would cover it, but it appears not. My mistake. Anyway, we wouldn’t want to upset the Firm right before you settle your debts. So, shall we?’
Chesko doesn’t move.
‘What’s wrong?’
‘You said this was the last job.’
‘Well. It isn’t. Stop being so petulant and get up. We've got work to do.’
Chesko shrugs. ‘I guess there’s always going to be one more job?’
The Broker smirks. ‘Now you’re getting it.’
‘Shame.’
Two harsh snaps. The suppressed pistol under the table blows The Broker’s knees apart. He goes down screaming.
‘What the-’
His last two words as Chesko slots him through the throat.
‘No more.’
