I found somewhere old, lost to time, it’s people as ancient as the jungle around them. I expected welcome and riches beyond measure, but their faces did not grow glad to see me. So I came back and conquered and burned their histories and wrote my own in their place. Thus I made somewhere new, a new story, and all that tricky nuance was washed away.
