It’s peaceful in the high branches. The shaman’s hut is built deep into the nest of a great tree and smoke drools out of its windows. High as a kite, mad as a box of frogs. He takes some getting used to, does the shaman. But he does make a decent point every once in a while, even if none of his magics seem to do much. He said to me once, ‘Brother, know you can’t know it all. Take the time to enjoy not-knowing and remember to enjoy the learning, you only get to do it once.’ I’d say that’s about right. Mind you, he doesn’t have to pay rent.
