We broke apart the flowers and drained them of their colour. From their bodies, we dyed silks and cloths, wools for tapestries and paint for canvases. Our ships, our homes, we painted their exteriors with floral blood and passed through the valleys of nature expecting no reprisal. One by one, we lost our vision to the pollen that leaked from all our beautiful things.
