We are - all of us - drawn to the blood drenched and the sweat soaked. Flesh as spectacle. Humans rising to unthinkable heights and crashing into the blackest lows.
We are bereft of these indulgences in our dry lives. Behind stone walls and glass windows we peer out into the murk and fury of nature and some part of us years for a return, even if our minds do not consider the chaos and pain it'd take to get there.
It's just fantasy. Harmless enough in the mind and on the tongue, but deadly in the hand.
