A gloomy Sunday. Rain patters against the window. Coffee steams up the glass. A good book rests in her lap. It transports her to a desert and a mystery out of time. Which is far more interesting than her dull corner of North England. Still, she finds herself looking up every now and then at the raindrops and the tiny, bulbous world they capture, and feels relief that she is here and not there. There is a great deal to be excited about in an adventure but there's also great danger. There's a comfort in knowing nothing big is going to happen. A comfort in dull days.
