Imagine drowning in light. Imagine every pore filled with photons, every capillary charged with seething energy, casting a pink glow around the temples of muscle and foundations of bone, blood boiled by luminosity and lungs choked of darkness. Shafts of light peeling back fingernails and skin bubbling with pulsing waves, the full breadth of the electromagnetic flowing beneath the dermis, eyes burning with the oversaturation and presenting to you a dizzying array of nothing; blindness from abundance, mania made manifest. That is what it is like to be Other, or as close as we can understand it. That is why they saw our world, with all its shrieking, nauseating brightness and decided to snuff us back into the absolute black from whence we came.
