'Do you weep?'
'Aye. I weep for the beauty of it.'
'The cosmos?'
'Our dominion over it. Our threat. The fear we induce in other races. The surety of our survival, the firmness of our place, the clarity of our design. We have a sure fate, because of our strength. All these generations, all these lives, building a monument of a civilization that will weather the tides of time. And you, why do weep?'
'For your passion and your delusion. You understand little, if you think we have dominion over our thin slice of space, let alone the cosmos.'
