Ain’t no sunshine when she’s gone. Never a truer word spoken. When Amaterasu, kami of the sun, abandoned us, she took with her those glistening rays. Our soil no longer warmed, no vital energy coursed through our green veins. We were left with a cold rock, where nothing new would grow. Eternal darkness, lit only by batteries and burning fuels.
And the darkness awoke something new. Something that had remained inert since the time before sunlight, before Amaterasu, before any kami. Something that found its vital energies in other places. In us.
