The governor sits in the palatial dining room, gazing out the open windows at the city below, the warm air carrying on it the bustle and chatter of the people he rules. He’s drinking a local spirit and thinks of going for a drive. But he can’t shake the memory of yesterday, at the university, and the look in some of those young student’s eyes. Romantic, proud, and furious. They have a sense of this country as a thing it has never been, but they believe it so ardently that it’s made real to them - almost, for he the governor and his men bar the path to this fantastical country. He thinks, then, that people like that would find cold blooded murder easier than living without their dream country. That he is a door and a gun is the key. So he thinks about staying inside instead, at least until things calm down.
