The crocodile thinks about life. The swamp is warm. The water is murky (good for hiding). He likes the briny smell.
He eats turtles and birds and fish. He likes these things.
The crocodile is unaware that his ancestors were around before anything else in this world. Or that his offspring will be around longer than anything else. He would not care if he did understand these things.
There's just the warm days, cool nights, and the next meal. The crocodile is happy. There isn't anything else to say about that.
